The Kelleys and Glorybound
Glorybound
is a Maine-based
Southern Gospel singing group that was
formed in the mid
'80s.
The group was made up of our daughter Dawn
who started singing at an early age with sound tracks at “Gospel
Music Nights” that were held every Friday night at different
churches. About 10
years later, she expressed an interest in joining the group and
became our lead singer.
Retta,
my wife of 43 years, is one of the original
members of the group
and began singing in churches at a young age with her aunts in a
girl’s trio. She, then, started singing with an older gentleman by
the name of Granville Furge, who also played the fiddle. Retta sings
alto and is a vital part of the group.
She is also an ordained minister and does the
talking for the group.
Rick
is also an original member of the group.
He has played the accordion for many years but only started singing
about 6 years ago when
the group had to restructure because one of
the singers had to leave the group due to illness.
In 2005, there was another change in the group. In May of that year, Dawn left the group to attend school, share in her own ministries, and follow the path God had ahead of her.
At that time, we thought that our ministry was over but the Lord
supplied us with some wonderful new material.
Two songwriters sent us about 30 new songs that had never
been recorded. Also they sent studio sound tracks, lyrics, and full
permission to use the songs.
This included recording them with no royalties. We have
learned some of them and have continued doing concerts since
Novvember 2005. Souls
are being saved and we are being re-booked so I guess the Lord is
not done with us yet.
We are going to keep on keeping on till He comes. We also had a new
prison open up to our ministry.
We have been there several times now and have had over 30
souls saved. All Praise
goes to our God!
